Prospective Students Eligibility Profile for Haines City High School’s IB Programme

In order to attend IB, a student must apply, and qualify, for one of the limited seats during the District Open Enrollment period during their eighth-grade year. 

  • Middle School GPA of a 3.5 or higher
  • Have qualifying standard assessment scores
  • Live in the HCHS IB zone (East Side of Polk County – see zoning below.)
    • Students zoned for the following high schools are eligible to attend the Haines City IB Programme: 
      • Haines City High
      • Ridge Community High
      • Lake Region High
      • Winter Haven High
      • Auburndale High
      • Tenoroc High
      • Lake Gibson High
      • Davenport High

PCPS Open Enrollment Information

Open enrollment for priority consideration for IB programs is now closed. Notification of acceptance for priority applicants will be sent via email and Parent Portal alert beginning March 28, 2022.

If you did not apply during the priority window and wish to apply for an IB program, paper applications will be available in April.

IB Application Requirements for the 2022-23 School Year

To be accepted into this program, current 8th or 9th grade students who applied during the Open Enrollment priority window (January 4-February 18) must register to take a computerized district assessment. The student must qualify into this program by scoring high enough on the district assessment.

District Expectations

Students are expected to adhere to all the academic, ethical and behavioral requirements described in the Code of Student Conduct. Depending on the location of a student’s residency, students and families need to be aware of the additional time commitment involved in utilizing district transportation.
